This blog is for general information purposes only.
I am not a mental health professional nor am I a doctor. I am someone who has struggled with Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder/Bipolar II Disorder I believe since my teens. The diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder was reached in 2015 when I was 51 following a suicide attempt. The updated diagnosis of Bipolar II Disorder followed in 2018/19 as I came to better understand and share my symptoms. I was then 54/55. This means that my mental illness was undiagnosed and untreated for forty plus years.
This blog does not supply medical advice. It does not give a diagnosis. While my treatments are discussed, this blog is not a treatment service.
I stress that the information supplied here is not a substitute for medical or professional care. You should not use the information you read here in place of:
- a visit;
- a call or virtual consultation;
- and the advice,
of your doctor or mental health professional. I urge you, please do not disregard medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on this blog. Similarly, do not rely on the information I share here in place of seeking medical advice.
What I share is my experience only. Your experience will differ so your treatment plan will differ as well. This is normal. We each have our own path to healing.
If you have any questions about anything you read on this blog, I urge you to talk to your doctor or mental health professional for more information.
If you require the help of a mental health professional, please contact your doctor immediately or go to your nearest hospital or walk-in clinic. IF YOU HAVE SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, PLEASE CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK THE HELP YOU SO RIGHTLY DESERVE. You are more worthy than you appreciate, and you deserve the opportunity to heal.
